RiSIC - Identify waste, abuse, and fraud in health insurance claims
As a UI Developer, I contributed to the development of RiSIC, a powerful software solution designed to detect and mitigate waste, abuse, and fraud in health insurance claims. Using Material Design, SCSS, and React, I translated high-fidelity designs into fully functional, responsive UI components while collaborating with a dynamic, cross-functional team.

My Impact
Translating Designs into Code
I transformed Figma designs into interactive interfaces using Material UI and React, ensuring a seamless user experience. Despite skipping wireframes, I relied on pre-existing references to deliver high-quality, pixel-perfect designs.
Prioritizing for Success
I set task priorities based on project deadlines, user needs, and business goals. Communicating these priorities during SCRUM meetings fostered team alignment and allowed for quick adaptability to changing project demands.
Learning and Collaboration
Working alongside experienced product designers and developers, I immersed myself in SCRUM processes and proactively engaged with cross-functional partners for insights and feedback. This exposure helped me better understand the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and apply my creativity effectively to solve real-world challenges.
My Learnings
Visuals as a Universal Language
Bringing visuals is essential when communicating initial ideas with cross-functional partners. By sharing low-fidelity prototypes and design references, I was able to better align with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders about feasibility, technical constraints, and timelines. This helped streamline the implementation process in React and Material UI.
The Art of Prioritization
Understanding and managing multiple projects by setting clear priorities was key. I learned to balance tasks based on timelines, user needs, and business goals. By sharing priorities in meetings, I could stay agile and adapt to shifting demands while ensuring consistent and clean designs aligned with the Design System.
Proactivity and Collaboration
Adopting a proactive, creative mindset is invaluable. I actively sought feedback and collaborated across teams to refine UI elements and workflows. This experience deepened my understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and how to use frontend tools like Git, JavaScript, and SCSS effectively to ensure polished, production-ready interfaces.
My Overall Experience
During my internship, I honed my skills in designing and developing user-centric interfaces. I worked closely with cross-functional teams, contributed to enhancing the consistency of design systems, and built scalable components using modern frontend tools like React, Material UI, and SCSS. This experience allowed me to grow as a developer and designer while making meaningful contributions to the projects.
